Just got pics back from
@theBAYsics of the custom balltops I did for him. He made the tops and I did the illustrations, and then he finished them up with a couple clear coats. I must say, they look pretty sweet.
so this has been my first attempt at customizing a DIY munny. i started out spray painting the little dude down with some montana gold, but for whatever reason the paint kept bubbling up. so i mixed some acrylic paint to match and brushed it on. then came the posca paint marks...love these things. I'm not quite done yet, i still need to clear him, but hoping to do that soon. and then off to easy...i hope.
stay posted. i'll let ya all know when he is up on etsy. i might even have more like him in the future...hint hint.
So I wanted to try something different and go tall and skinny...this was the result.
So I was hoping to do a series of three with the canvas completely covered in my little dudes....however, that did not happen.
My second canvas started out great but then I made a few amateur mistakes (cause that's what i am) and it didn't end well. I might post pictures of the defect but it hurts too much right now.
so with all that said, this is it, black 'n' orange.
had a little free time while watching the basketball finals...this was the result. a little hard to see at first but with just a tilt of the hand you can see my little friends.

they started as a simple sketch in a long and boring meeting. and look at them now, rocking the canvas! and maybe someday...a t-shirt.
Another attempt with paint markers. I still haven't nailed down my technique but it's getting there.
After many sketches, ink stained hands, and a few mishaps with the spray paint....it is finally finished.
This is just a little something I was trying out. Still have some finessing to do but I think I might be on to something. Hopefully more to come in the future.
